IT Project Manager
- Remote
- Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
- Grip
Job description
At Grip, we’re building infrastructure — not just for art and CGI, but for scalable, reliable workflows. As our IT Project Manager, you’ll own the delivery of technology projects that underpin our platform and tooling. You’ll connect technical ambition with operational clarity, ensuring that every IT initiative — from system upgrades to integrations or tooling roll-outs — is executed with precision, transparency, and care.
Your projects will range from making Grip’s internal systems, pipelines, and workflows robust, adaptive, and future-ready to implementing custom development projects, including leading requirements gathering, scoping, planning and delivery management. As a hands-on project manager you don’t just manage resources, you get actively involved in the activities, offering your knowledge and insights wherever you can. You’ll coordinate across teams, balance technical requirements with real-world delivery, and ensure our backbone infrastructure supports our long-term creative and production goals.
If you value clarity, craftsmanship, and quiet mastery — and if you appreciate translating complexity into stable, high-quality technical results — this is the role for you.
What you’ll do
Plan & deliver IT projects from end to end
Define and critically assess project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones and success criteria.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
Guard the successful delivery, from timelines to quality like a hawk – ensuring we deliver true (IT) works of art – on time, and with the right specifications
Oversee projects from initiation to completion: Scoping, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and handover.
Actively get involved with client communications, ensuring all parties (internal and external) are aligned and functioning as a bridge between technical and business worlds.
Coordinate across teams & stakeholders
Work closely with internal teams — Engineering, DevOps, Product, Delivery — to translate needs into technical requirements and actionable tasks.
Serve as main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on project status, risks, and progress.
·Facilitate regular meetings, updates, reviews, and stakeholder communications.
Manage risk, quality, timeline and budget
Identify potential risks, dependencies, and constraints; proactively propose mitigation strategies.
Monitor project progress, budgets, resource usage, and quality — ensuring we deliver on time and to standard.
Enforce documentation standards, versioning, handover procedures, and post-project reviews to ensure sustainability.
Support continuous improvement & technical reliability
Drive the adoption of best practices in project management, IT infrastructure, and tooling.
Work with engineering and ops teams to roll out upgrades, integrations, automation, and tooling improvements.
Ensure that new systems and changes align with Grip’s long-term tech roadmap and stability goals.
Job requirements
What you’ll bring
Your experience
5+ years of experience managing IT or technical projects (software delivery, infrastructure, integrations, internal tooling, etc.).
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional IT initiatives on time, on budget, and with high quality.
Experience coordinating between technical and non-technical stakeholders and translating technical concepts into understandable plans.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or hybrid), tools (e.g. Jira, Airtable, Gitlab, DevOps, Clickup), and version control / deployment workflows.
A mindset of ownership, responsibility, and continuous reliability.
Your mindset & soft skills
Not a project is executed without a clear plan in mind. And while not dogmatic, you’ll get the commitment from all involved stakeholders you need to get to your goal.
When the unexpected happens, you thrive at solving problems. You love the puzzle a challenging project offers, and you are quick to learn the best ways to get your project to the finish line.
Clear, structured communication — you can explain complex tech in human-friendly terms.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies.
Proactive problem-solving approach: you anticipate issues, plan ahead, and act early.
Collaborative and humble: you treat internal teams as partners and support them, not micromanage.
Tech-savvy but not egotistical: you know technology enough to guide projects, but you’re focused on results and impact, not technical showmanship.
Many of the projects you manage involve venturing into undiscovered territory – you love diving into the unknown and laying the groundwork for our future success.
